    Nano Technology Waterproofing

Came across this the other day and thought it would be fantastic on all components in the hull. Unfortunately it seems you need some fancy machine under a vacuum to do this and your items would need to be sent in for treatment. So far this is only being applied to smart phones that I can see but I did put in an inquiry into treating motors and receivers. The technology is new and there seems to be at least 3 different companies out there doing the same thing at this point in time. Biggest one is Liquipel http://www.liquipel.com/

It does everything even under the hood and all cavities, This means all windings and bearings and whatever there may be in our hardware would be treated/waterproofed for life. Sounds really, really promising IF pricing is right. I personally would fork over $100 to have all my components done (Motor, esc, receiver, servo) See this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ4g-5VBzVs

Anybody in Santa Ana California? They say you can walk in and wait for treatment which takes about 30-40 mins.

Don't worry about the motor. Fresh water will not hurt a brushless motor. In fact, they will run just fine underwater. I'd be curious if the Liquipel product will protect a moving surface, however, such as a gears/motor in a servo. I can see how it would be great for receivers and ESC's!

Looks like they charge $60 for an item and you have to send it to them in California.

I'd be interested to know if they apply their formula in a vacuum chamber or what to get it to every little nook and cranny.

This part is mind boggling. They simply put the phone in the machine and water proof it but this does everything even internally on a molecular level. Hard to understand but take a look at this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw8VJVORZCg

I saw a vid of the Liquipel on tissue paper and the paper stayed completely dry. I wonder if they are the only company doing this.

Guess this technology is called Hz0. Looks like it will take off big time. http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=19370

i wonder if it would hurt high current conductivity in the FET's

Well, I have the vacuum part for molding but, 3 1/2 years, it should widely available by now.
I dought it will do moving parts, but should be good for ESC's.
