    Drilling Fiberglass

I need to drill some mounting holes in fiberglass. The areas I'm drilling are pre-reinforced, but I still would be open to tips.

I use tape on the surface to be drilled. I mark the location carefully then drill a small pilot hole on that spot. That makes locating a larger bit easier.

The tape makes it easy to accurately mark the location and helps keep the bit from sliding around. I use the blue painters tape sold as most hardware stores.
    Don't get me started

I also do the tape thing. But i would remember to let the drill bit do the cutting and just take it slow and dont force it.

I have a set of manual drills... I can go from 1/16 upwards...
I usually mark the location then drill it with the manual drills
as a pilot and then if it is difficult I'll use a powertool or if it is easy
I'll use the next size up or two sizes bigger... a bit more work
        but works wonders for me.
Mike A. are you doing a burnout in a minivan?hhahahahaah
