Tried the clear over Candy Red.All good! I would test another colour too make sure when you get them. What options does Pactra leave you with paint?Spray bombs,Jars/bottles? I don't think I've seen any other than car body stuff.

I have lots of the spray cans laying around plus my hobby shop has almost all the colors. I have used the car stuff on my mean machine but didn't get that shine I was looking for then I realized duh! No Clear Coat! So I was looking for a clear.

Jerry, just saw the pics of your boat today. It's BEAUTIFUL!!! I'd be afraid to race it in an Offshore race tho. JIM

I just ordered some U-pol from autobodytoolmart.com turns out they are about an hour away so I should get it soon! I have a question though, do I have to lightly sand the pactra paint before I lay the clear down? I would think sanding it in anyway would dull the color out.

Won't matter if it dulls.I sanded the whole hull after clear many times to try to smooth the decals and it comes back glossy.I used 400-600 grit.
Wetsand lightly just to give the clear something to bite.

Make sure whatever clearcoat you use is UV safe as carbon fibre and epoxy is not so the carbon will deteriorate over time especially if left in the sun.

The U-pol can says UV resistant so it should be good. Thanks for bringing it up,I never really gave it much thought.

No worries just thought id mention it as many dont realise epoxy isnt uv resistant thats why it needs to be painted.Better product than epoxy is vinylester resin as it can be used with poly gelcoats clear or coloured which are uv resistant. Its also cheaper than epoxy while still been strong some say stronger.

Will the clear have a problem sticking to the pactra if I don't sand the pactra?

You plan on pulling hatch tape off of it?
