I didnt try to even out the paint with the decals on mine but i used 1000 like Gimp just to scuff it up then did a light wash with just alittle dishsoap, used my air compressor to blow off the excess water, then sprayed two coats very light then i sprayed it thick, just enough to look evenly wet, did this two or three times and let it sit for about a weak and put some polish wax on it and done,, ill try to get a good pick tonight to show my hatch up close..

Thanks Jerry looks great, I've decided to order some more decals, rather than try and sand around the ones on there and risk flaking off at a later stage, plus it's damp and cold in the UK so gonna wait till the weather gets warmer before doing it as I won't be allowed to do it in the house!

Well guys,I got sucked into buying some small sanding cloth by my LHS.I got 1800,2400,and 3600 grit. This stuff goes to 12,000,yes,12,000.When I glued my hatch locks in to my canopy, some CA ran across my clear so I guess I'm trying the polish system.I think I'll test run her first though. It's just too close

It's an experiment Rich.I haven't tried it on Pactra.I may have some around I can test for you if you like.Testors enamel is fine as long as you let it cure well.Testors laquer seems to be fine. Tamiya acrylic is good.I'm gonna switch to it.

Let me know about the test.

No No,I didn't mean Testors makes a clear.Well they do but it sucks.I get my U-pol from a autobody paint supplier.Do you have one near?

There is also Auto Body Toolmart online in the states.
