Duratrax NiMH cells, any good ?

    Hi
Are the Duratrax DTX4200 6 cell flat packs from Tower any good ?
They have soldered tabs and are priced at $86.48 for two.

I honestly dont know but was looking at them myself. Kinda pricey for me considering I was just gonna use them in recovery boat. Take a chance and let us know. For know I was just gonna pick up some 2000MAh nicd sticks from Steven. like 20.00 for 2.

        .

Noel just down the road from me got some the other week from tower, they look great, but he hasn't used them yet(boat is still in the works).
I saw anothere guy either here or on RRR use the in a cambell classic with the SV27 combo, with good results.
        Hope this helps,
Might see u(and the triton? ) sunday?
        Tyler.

          Don't bother !!!!
I bought a pair with some other gear from Tower ( silly me ) and after cycling them at least 4 times the best I can get from them is 3200 mah.
They either use different 'amps' in China or the rating is BS.
Some of my 3 year old used and abused 3800 cells from OSE still perform better than these.
          Ah well, live and learn.

Graham I always wonder how long Nimh packs have been sitting around with out being taken care of. This is the main reason I would only buy them from one place.

If they're relatively fresh, they're pretty good as I understand it...these were all that Grim, Russ, and the other guys from AquaCraft/Futaba were running at the Nats (NW FE version) last year. Nearly everyone else ran Lipos.
I haven't had any personal experience other than running my Nimh-powered SV against theirs'. Those packs have plenty of power when in good condition. Pretty sure Grim set a record with those in his hydro.
              Sounds like yours were oldy-moldy...sucks.

I have 4 packs of 4200's that I use in my SV's ive had them about a year and a half and they work great. Not as good as IB cells but still better than any Venom pack.
                Many issues!!!
