I have only used fiberglass matting with poly resin and carbon/kevlar cloth with Z Poxy finshing resin. Both have held up great with zero negative results from crashing/blow overs. I will say, that the carbon/kevlar cloth is quite the pain to lay. I wont be using it any longer. Next, im going to try fiberglass matting with finishing resin. Should be a good, strong combo. Im sure regular carbon fiber would suffice, but, I havent used it yet. Prob a pain like the combo material, im sure. Just my opinion and experience. Have a good one, Mel.

Thanks for the quick reply larry, but the thing is I have a kevlar cloth which I might use it to reinforce a hull, but I don't know whether it is strong enough. I've already using carbon kevlar and its not easy to lay which Im agree with you.

If you use CA glue instead of tape it is really easy to cut and will not distort the weave on carbon Kevlar or carbon fibre. I believe Kevlar is stronger.

Kevlar and Carbon can be hard to wet out.

What I often do is to cut the cloth to fit the area then wet out the cloth on a peace of plastic on the bench with resin of choice then install into the hull already wet.
