A couple of guys have asked about the stainless turn fin on the back of my Triton so I thought I would share this with you.
When setting up this boat I was advised to use turn fins that are the same shape as those sold by OSE but at least 1/2 an inch longer.
I was wandering thru a hardware shop ( as you do, while waiting for Wifey to emerge from a dress shop ) when I spotted these putty knives with exactly the right shape blade. Highly polished hardened stainless steel only 1mm thick, and the best part , only $3.50 each. How could I resist !!!
A bit of grunting with a hacksaw, file and a drill and eureka one turn fin.
So keep a sharp ( pun intended ) eye out next time you are lurking in your hardware shop, you never know what you might find.
