    pirate 35 w/1520

delta force pirate 35 with a 1520 on 5s i have only run the boat a few times and it handle well and not running wet i used a m445 prop with great temps but went to a x447 it taxed the batts hard and were alittle puffy but returned to normal batts are 5s 5000mah 30 zippys new. it ran 47mph on the x447 i did not get a chance to gps the 445 should i go up in pitch i did not think the 447 was to big

      Yeah..............40c minimum with a 1520.

      Try an x645 for 5s.

Run it on 6s with at least 40c packs and an X447/3. Speeds close to 60mph with cool temps on everything.

My experience is that nano techs are garbage. The regular blue turnigys perform better and last longer. The Pirate is a bigger boat that is just on the too big side for a 1520. Id run a Nue 1527/1.5/D on 6s. Even a 1/Y would work good. I use 3s 5000mah 40-50c for my 6s set ups.

I have read that the Nano's suck too. My humble opinion is that the 1520 will work well if not overpropped............so huge speed is not expected. With some 40c 5s batts and an x645 he should see 55 mph. If 6s is chosen then i would back off to the m445 and roughly the same speed should be attained. The 1520 is pretty stout and is larger than a Leopard 4082 for comparison..........its 40 x 88 mm. Make sure that you get 40c minimum batts.

For 5s i'd run two of these in parallel - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...5S1P_40C_.html

ok so let me understand this i have 2 5000mah 5s 30c batts good for 300 amps total and you say get the 40c 3000mah equal to 240 amps total does the higher c rating make all the difference i thought amps are amps not matter how they are obtained- maybe i did not state i had parallel packs which i thought would take the load i will try to back down props and some gps readings and temps, but still would like to go 6s

I never knew you were running 2p..................... amperage is fine then. What ESC are you running? I still think an x645 on 5s would be nice.

esc is a t180 you know i cant remember what the lipo cut off is at maybe its on 4s and pulled the batts down to far thats why they puffed alittle along with the bigger prop i will look into it. i'm going to start with the m445 and check the speed then move up m545 then m645
