Hello really thinking about the la gran argentina boat, by hydro marine. I am looking brushless, but not sure which ones? i am going for 2 motors, going to solid shafts. iam looking at speed but also lots or torque as where i go can be very rough so speed it not always a good way.

i have run brushed on 3700nims last few years but this was a local race class.

Solid shafts are not a good way to go, no adjustment hurts performance. Use flex cables instead. What do you mean "looking at speed"? What kind of run time are you looking for? You will want brushless motors and LiPo batteries, but we need more information to help you.

Ok so solid out thats what i have always had with no problems, but maybe as its a big boat i will try them. want long run time its not a race boat just something to go down the lake with an have a bit off fun.

Tried to find the motors they recommend but cant find them, anyone made one or can suggest motors for it thanks chris

That's a good looking 60" boat. I'd recommend the Expansion rate V version PB 11-15 cc version, as it it comes with a stronger flex drive system than the FE version. With a flex drive you can adjust prop height & angle. With a staight drive, there is no adjustment & you're stuck with whatever angle/height it comes with.

I've had excellent results using Leopard 5692 motors. If your criteria is having fun rather than max speed, I would recommend the 730KV version on 8-10S2P LIPOS. Also, don't buy cheapie LIOPs like I did. 10 out of 20 LeopardRed 4S LIPO packs I bought have gone bad on me. Buy Turnigy Nano Tec LIPOs or other top quality brands.

You will need another collet for the motor/flex drive, install battery boxes, and a good quality 200+ amp HV (12 cell) ESC. Turnigy or Swordfish 240HV ESCs are a good value. Castle HYDRA ICE2 200HVs are an excellent choice, but Castle has a big order backlog on those.

There are many, many ways to skin this cat. This setup should give you a starting point for great performing & long lasting fun boat. Good luck. JIM

Thanks i want top speed as well as fun, an want a twin setup like the original. it ran four rngines gearboxed to two outdrives.
