Ok I'm looking to make some Neu Rail motor mounts. Do you guys use mostly a 4 or 5" rail widths?

Please do both,, For Example, A Delta Force 33" can come with 4", and most of the bigger gas hulls have 5".... JMO

All Aeromarine Gas boat hulls (36"-60") come with 5" rails.... The Avenger 44", Apache 50", XXX 45" V-hull, for example have 5"( unless you specail order for FE set-up).......Also Striker Cat's, Insane Hydros and Cat's....

Steve. i believe if you could make them 4 inches and then have " bolt" on extensions that would be great
because i have a couple nitros with 4 inch rails and a gas one with 5inch that are all FE

Ok, so I'm getting the vibs that nitro is spaced on a 4" rail. And gas is on a 5" rail? i will have both widths made.

Steven, for what it's worth, I know of a couple very fast electric guys who order their stringers at 3". Makes a nice tight motor/esc bay with batts on outside of the rails.
If you go with the batts inside the rails with a 4" bay the lateral cg is better and with the motor mounted aft there's more room for longitudinal cg up front. The down side: the lipos I run are each about 1.9" wide so 4" inches would be a tight fit.

                  My 2 cents

Anything that uses a 22xx motor is going to have 5" rails. I just picked up a Stryker gas hydro hull to make FE. It has 5" rails. My Sniper is 5" as well (3060).

Are these going to be mounts that support the motor at both ends?? I feel that this is very important on any of the larger boats. Even my DF Storm is supported front and back. Solid mounting. No flexing.
                    Don't get me started

Steven have you made any progress on these? I would like to get one for 45mm in the SW36. I'd have no problem testing a proto.
