    5.5mm connectors ok?

Sorry to post yet another thread on connectors, however ive read tons of threads on the subject of connectors and still no wiser as some of these date back a few years and things change so quickly (5.5mm/EC5/Deans Ultra/XT60 etc etc etc).

I will be running a Genesis, 4082 1600kv and 6S (x2 3S in , and simply need to know if 5.5mm bullet connectors will be fine for this, I am based in the UK and can find loads of 5.5mm on Ebay (either uk based on hong kong), however 6.5mm there is next to nothing, 8mm and theres even less choice.

Before i go ahead and buy I would like like some advice on what to go for, So far i have changed my fleet 3 times from Tamiya to Deans to 4.5mm bullets and now to X as i upgrade to lipos and a proper FE.

I cannot see myself running any stupid high amp setups as i am purely a sport user

I use 8mm as well. Never heat up, easier to grab, and you'll never have to worry if they're good enough. Well worth it in my opinion.

I use 6mm for all my boats--
          - 4s1p with neu1515 2200 kv motor on a 29" mono

          -4s2p with cc1518 1800kv on a 31" mono (with a larger prop)

Works well for me. What I have noticed is when I prop up too much the first thing to get hot are my connectors.

I would advise NOT to use 8MM bullets on anything that you want to actually unplug or plug.
They are fine on ESC to motor, but if you wire your batts with them, its pretty hard to push them together

I use 8mm for larger boats and xt60's for mini's. The 8's are hard to push together when new, but 'break in' after a few uses.

Well worth it, like Gimp said.

duplicate post. I can't seem to delete these - it gives me 'database error'.

Ok so ive got my Tunigy packs which have 5.5mm connectors as standard and have also received my 6mm ones which i ordered seperately, however the 6mm ones are much stubbier than the 5.5 so iam guessing they wont be any better due to probably having a smaller surface area? Am i better just keeping the 5.5mm?

Keep them clean and lubed with WD40

WD40? Makes them easier to pull apart and prevents corrosion. No, g freak would clame that WD40 on the flex instead of grease is good for an additional 25mph lol

isn't wd40 flammable? even the smallest spark would set the fumes up in flames
                              is it even conductive?
