New to boating (one boat) suggestions on next boat please

    Hello fellow boaters,

    I have a mystic 29 running on 4s with a keda 4074/T180 now.

For my next boat im looking to step up a bit in size and run 5 or 6s. I was thinking about building a hk genesis or similar size cat.

What would you guys recommend for my second boat? Im looking to spend $600 to $700 for everything. I'm not limited to a cat, just want something with more stability that can handle quite a bit more power

    Thanks,
    Tom

welcome... for starters the hk genesis would likely need a fair bit of re enforcing to run on that kind of power. Lots of other good cat hulls around that are more solid. You could go with a nice DF mono on 4-6s for a very nice and fast boat.if you want a really nice cat take a look at the fightercat hulls. Very nice boats.

Tom, you may want to look at a hydro, they do not require a lot of power and are fast, but they are not the most stable boats in rough water conditions......but they are fun to drive.....there are quite a few in the 29" area.....total cost excluding radio, about $850 for a you build it hull......There is one RTR hydro boat that is pretty good and is inexpensive. As Kendt stated the Delta Force mono hulls are hard to beat

For $600 - $700 I would keep an eye on the used section. There have been a lot of nice hulls and gear on there for great prices. A good used hull with new electrics is a nice option. Though it takes the fun outta building.

That new DF Cat looks like a nice piece. Haven't seen a built up one ... its 36" and seems to be a good deal from OSE at $150.
