H&M Spyder Triple Wing Electric Setup

Any ideas on what would be the best 4S lipo setup or the H&M SPyder Triple Wing Hydro. Which motorr, maybe 1515 1Y or a Leopard 4074 or Lehner 1940 or a Neu 1512 1Y. Which ESC to use maybe a Swordfish 200 ESC, or even the Feigo 540XL. Looking for some ideas.

    A Neu 1512 would be good, not 4074 it's too big !
Fightercat 140 should be a good esc.

The usual questions...what will you use the model for - oval racing, SAW, sport running? How fast do you want to go? How much run time? How much $$$? This small hull won't hold a lot of weight without sinking in a hull breech, I'd go 2S if it fits your running type.

What do you think of the new Leopard 3674 2.5 D 2650KV? Little cheaper than the NEU 1515 1Y 2200 KV?

You don't need as much power. a leoaprd 3660 / 3665 between 2400/2600kv is such enough an little cheaper, in mine I 've 1509 with 1500w max and the leo 3674 give 2600w so it's not necessary except if you want small run time...

          I can run 6 min with rhino 4S1P4900 25C and x440

As per your PM. I can't seem to get mine to work ... perhaps a glitch on my network because the website was slow to

When I ran the 1515 1Y 4s1p setup in my 24" H&M Viper Turbine I ran it with two 2s1p 5000 25C enerlands as far forward as I could get them in the hull. My motor was mounted just behind where the cockpit was and I had the esc (Hydra 240) up the nose in front of the motor. This got the CG just about even with the turnfin. I also installed carbon fiber flaps on the canards on the front to add some down force. This was the same hull I raced in the early days of lipo in N2 Sport with a 1515 1D 2s2p setup ... when length limits were made and no production hulls that met them!

The spider is the same length as the Viper. The issue is fitting the gear, because the hull's layout is restricted like a rigger.

There are lots of setup options. The 2s setup works ... 1P or 2P depending on the motor.

I agree that the 1515 1Y is "too much power" for the hull if you are planning on using all the power it has. When I ran the viper 4s1p with the 1515 1Y I was spinning a M440 ... I was not using anywhere near the power I had available and I found the setup very mild on the batteries, motor, and gear. My run times were 4 minutes. Not because that's all I could do ... I just like to play it safe.

I have only run Neus so I cannot speak to the leopards. I just got my first two to try next year (a little 2860 and a big 5692)

            That's my 2 cents ...
