    Flotation Question from Newbie

I am currently constructing a 1/12th Finlay design shovel nose hydro and will soon be at the installing the flotation phase of this project. The question is : I have a pile of regular white styrofoam. Should I use this or try to get a pool noodle? Is there any advantage using one or the other? Does one have more bouyancy than the other?
This is my first boat build so I'm in the learning phase. Thank you for any comments in advance.

I have found that the Pool noodle works best when weight is put upon it. Styrofoam depending upon density will do the job. The more dense the better. If it were me I would get some pool noodle. Enjoy the build!

I second the pool noodle. Styrofoam flakes off & falls apart. Get the 2 1/2" OD size, its easier to cut & stuff. JIM

I picked up a good size length of pool noodle at a car boot sale the other day. Told her what it was for. Lady gave it to me.
Probably do my whole fleet with it.

                2 part pour foam
                mix and pour ..
It won't separate your hull. but it will contract in heat so spray the inside with wd40 so it don't stick

Do you have all the sides and decking glued on yet? I filled between the frames in the sponsons with pink foam, as well as up under deck at the front. Also glued in 1/4" foam slabs along the stringers on the inside, hint - don't cut pink foam with a table saw right before you have to go out!
Made the boat super stiff, kind of turned it into a wood over foam build after it was framed up but before I glued on the skins.
I think all the foam had a damping effect, the hull is so quiet on the water you can hear all kinds of other noises while it runs.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

The decking isn't on yet so I'll be able to add as much foam as there is space to stuff it in there. Still a ways to go before I get to the foam-right after I glass the bottom I will start on the foam.
Thank you guys, for all the suggestions. I'm sure I'll have more questions as the build progresses.
                    Thanks Invader1

I use the $4 "window and door gap" stuff they sell at Home Depot. Fill to 50% and have yet to split a seam. Jut filled my Spartan with it and worked like a charm. Added 16 oz of weight too which the boat needed since the hull is so light. I have had a piece Of cured foam I cut in half floating in my for almost a week now and it has yet to take on any water.

my info on the window and door ggap foam is that it will retain water
