Best Sport Setup for Single Apparition/Rivercat

Once my Genesis is finished (single 4082 on 6S) i have a 32" Rivercat to build, and was wondering what set up you would recommend for sport.

My aims are single motor (leaning towards an outrunner) high 30's and good run time (15 mins?). Its most likely going to be used when conditions arnt 100% or by friends/dad when i am running mine and want some company and therefore i am not looking at a top end set up, just a good budget set up.

I have a pair of 3s 2200mah 35c packs spare which are no good for the Genesis but would be great if i could use them with this setup.

    Thanks

If 6 S then go with a smaller motor like a leopard 36x74 around 1300-1400 KV and use your 6s. Good run time, fast and can be propped easily for longer run times.

I run a turnigy xk4074 in my genesis and i find it great for the price, cheaper than the leopards.

I'm running a stock Proboat 1500kv in my Apparition with a Turnigy 120A with an X642 prop. I have always run it on 4s however. It runs 40-42 mph with really good run times. I would think on 6s you would definity want a lower KV motor.

Those 3s 2200mah batteries are going to be way to small for this boat. This hull will kill them regardless of which motor you go with and it you parallel them the motor kv would have to be higher and the prop would have to be kinda small to keep the amp draw down and then performance will suffer (if the boat even gets on plane). I don't feel your gonna be able to use those 3s 2200s in this boat at all JMHO.

That sounds like a good set up, as my 3s are no good looks like I will be running this on 4s instead, what size is the proboat motor? The 120a turnigy will also save me some money against the t180

any 2000-2200kv on 4s2p would work great and use Different props to adjust speeds. Low temp and long run times.

                    Would a 120amp ESC work ok with say a 2000kv 4074 on 4s?

Yes but for the small difference in price you should buy the 180 so you can use it in another build someday. Unless you have the 120 already. Keep in mind that running in parallel cut amp draw way down.

With some setup work and a 642 prop that would be a high forties boat. Imo.

For high 30's run a lower kv around 1500 on 5s1p or 2p for good run time. Go with a Seaking 180.

hmmm considering this going to be a "spare" i can see this build spiralling!!

Thing is my CF Genesis is running a T180 and a Leopard 4082 on 6S so i wanted this to be a different build and in a lower league so to speak, If i go with the T180 the temptation will always be to run a Turnigy XK4074 on the same 6S and i will then be matching the Genesis, although maybe i am looking at it the wrong way and maybe thats a good thing! I suppose the extra cost of the T180 is offset buy running the same packs as i will in the Genesis, and the cost of getting a 4074 over say an outrunner, is i already have a spare 40mm water jacket!!

Proboat motor I'm using is 1500kv. I have been tempted to try it on 5s but 50% of the time I run it not so perfect conditions so 40 mph is plenty of speed for those conditions. With the T120 I can beat this boat up all day and have a blast. It has become my most reliable boat and it has only flipped a couple of times. It really is up to you as to what you want this boat to be and how much you want to spend. I believe the SuperVee stock motor is the same Kv and would work fine. You can sometimes pick up slightly used ones on the for sale forum. Just make sure the bearings are good. Also try posting in the "wanted" section.
