    JAE .Fe some questions

    Hello,

I'm a french owner of this rigger since few weeks. (Sorry for my poor "english")

Well, the set up is a leopard 3665 2680kv,
    Seaking 180 modified, 4S 5800 30C Zippy
    Flex Hydro&marine and strut 3/16.
    weight 4.8lbs

I have tried some prop and I feel happy with the first run. X442, X445 modified, V942, S225.
The best run actually is with X445, speed was 55mph.

I know that it is not the good prop but I 'm desapointed of the low speed . If I compare with UL-1 setup, my motor turn at 37000rpm instead of 30000. So with more 7000 rpm I should be more at 65/70 mph with a prop 45 diameter

I feel the boat is sticking on the water, however, I have a adjustable strut and I tried different positions but there is any visible change, the same on gps....

I'm even wondering if paint and varnish under sponson and ski can slow down and glue the hull to the water.

What do you think about it and which prop should be the best for my set up

    Many thanks

    Jujux

You might try an X1450 or one of the ABC props (H5, H7 or even an H10 with that motor)...

      Hello Jujux,

And welcome to OSE. The ride surfaces need to scuffed with 400 grit or similar to remove the shiny finish which sticks to the water. This is for the sponson and read shoe ride surafces. Make sure the prop and rudder and sharp and the driveline is free with no binding.

How are the temps of the motor and controller coming back in? Cool? You might try going up in pitch to X642, X645 or an ABC 1716 or 1816 2 blade cleaver.

Just some quick observances.....teflon washer on the strut.....large water inlet on rudder. These can cause drag. H5 may be too small and not enough pitch.

          Hi,

          Thanks for your answers.

Tyler, Esc, motor and lipos were cool, 85°F this my first leopard and 90° with S230....very good motor ! (I already have neu, tenshock and lehner)

AlanN, thanks for your observances, but I don't understand what's wrong with the teflon on strut ?? Can you explain please ?
OK, I will try an other rudder when I would have a new one.
I will try other prop like you said.

            Hi Jujux,

try using a higher C rating like 65C discharge for lipos and larger prop like x648 or H7
i am hitting on low to mid 60s zone with x648 4s2p 6000+mah on 1515neucastle
with about 1.5mins of run time only on my whip20

Watch out for temps and prop walk cause its rather a large prop
