People are running these in boats? I am on my way to the store since I just fried another esc (long story). I have a 180 seaking on order from OSE, but want to get a mamba pro from the store so I can fart around this weekend. Plus I would use it in another boat later, or as a back up esc. I see OSE sells them.
Need answer quickly about mamba pro esc

Dont use it in a boat. Have patience and wait for your marine esc. Save the mmp for land use. As soon as you get the mmp wet, its gone.Comment

Not that I know of. Id rather be patient or else youll be paying for a mmp replacement/repair. Water damage isnt covered under warranty. Maybe someone here has used the mmp in a boat with success, but I havent ever heard (read) of it. I know how it feels to get excited about running something, but it really is worth waiting.Comment

All of the 2-Lap and SAW records I've set this year with my N1 and M2 boats have been set using the Mamba Max Pro ESCs (standard, and special 1-cell version)... My boats stay completely dry inside, however, which honestly, should be standard operating procedure for FE boats. If it's getting wet inside, you need to get that fixed.
They seem to be working fine. I wouldn't, however, use them in setups pulling more than 100A or so, continuous. Cars and RC Trucks may hit some decent spikes under accelleration, but they don't carry the high-amps continuously that our boats do.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Hey Darin, I read that you were planning on using that in my searches. My boat doesn't get wet, and if it does, it's because something broke, and usually just a few drops. The ESC is on a shelf and never sees water. I took it apart and sprayed it with some CRC lubricant/water repellent. I also propped down to draw somewhere around60-80amps continuous. I also did not get the pro, I got the monster which I think can handle more amps. Let's see how it works out. Seaking is on it's way, and as soon as fighter cat gets some of his ESC's in, I will getting one of those. Very easy ESc to setup too.Comment

Darin is the man I thought who may have used the mmp in a boat, but I wasnt sure. I still hold at my opinion to wait until your marine esc gets to you. Nothing against you, Darin, just trying to keep a guy from ruining his esc.Comment

I don't know why, for some reason this time of year I get to running boats. With ice fast approaching on the lake in about a month and work going crazy, I like to get in as much running as possible. If I wait, I might not run till spring when I don't really feel like running, lol. Going out now.....Comment
