As the title says on cats like Miss geico, Mystic, Appiritions etc to help with blowover or is it more affective on hydro hulls. This is using the above hulls with uprated motors & esc with something like the Leopard 4074 2200kv on 4s & possibly 5s for short straight line runs. Your thought please. Martin.
Does an air dam work on cat hulls to reduce lift at high speeds.

The dam itself is a very simple easy thing to make & fit, a lot just use a piece of platic angle hanging down around 1/2" & set back 2" from thr front of the tunnel. But this is normally on hydro hulls, im interested in knowing if it has the same possitive effect on cat hulls at high speeds.Comment

I have found an air dam to be highly effective on both hydros and catamarans. In fact several of my past SAW records would not have been possible without an air dam. Today I make them by taping a length of plastic drinking straw (large diameter) across the entire tunnel, 2-3" behind the front of the tunnel floor.

Would love some more pics and info on this! Just noticed that my Apparition has a very shallow and long transition on the tunnel.

Fluid;
I use a windshield wiper blade servo (the thin very sticky stuff) taped under my Daytona.
Works great.Comment

Do you put the tape in intermitent places running front to back along the tunnel or continuous strip of tape running the length of the straw.

Thanks for the photo Fluid. I have a 36' homemade Cat made of Coroplast (corrugated pvc plastic) and is very lite and at 54mph it tends to take to the Air so Im thinking an "air dam " might help. I will be making a Dam this morning....Rat Cat 1.jpg
