Wow that thing is big, Single 2028 would be plenty of power but if you wanted something to be real proud of you have to Twin it, and you already know the Leopards will give you mind-blowing speeds.

Steve, what are your expectations for the boat? A single is definately not a good idea if you want decent speeds or run times. We have had a number of big cats in the club, in fact one a little bigger than this one is sitting right now in a member's garage. The "best" setups have been 10S-12S and twin motors of at least 1527-size, 2215/2230 sizes are better. Props will have to be 57mm+ in diameter to move the beast.

Going "cheap" can easily lead to disappointment. Save up to do it right, or sell it now. And be careful with advice - no matter how well intentioned - from those who have only been around small/medium sized cats. This is not your or anyone else's Tacon-powered Genesis!

thanks Jay. The single idea was out once I literally had the boat in my hands.

If that doesn't work out, you can always use it to give kiddie rides! Nice.

mhh... don't know much about heat racing for the open class but thats what I'd use:

                            2x 5692/2Y
                            2x Swordfish 240A
                            2x 9S 5000mAh 40C
                            2x Octura X457's

what speeds/runtimes are you aiming for?

                            Manuel

Steven, a single 2028 on 10s2p can push that hull to 80+..............................

I'd go with twin 1717's, 6s2p each if you are set on a two motor job..............of course the big twin Leopard would obviously be faster.
