Hi Jeppo (or is it Liam?)
      Welcome to OSE
I too, suffer from dyslexia although it is self diagnosed. I have learned throughout my childhood to deal with it because I never had treatment. I possess lmost all the signs of dyslexia, as well as the accompanying disorders from extreme shyness, to the frequent mix up of right and left sides.

Anyway, Which rigger was it you built? Do you remember if the positive and negative were crossed when you plugged in the ESC?

I suggest you get back into it with a JAE21 FE rigger. OSE also sells them in various stages of completion.

      Lipo cells are 3.7V each so a 2S lipo is (3.7v + 3.7v) = 7.4v. Likewise, a 4S lipo is (3.7 + 3.7 + 3.7 + 3.7) = 14.8v

Get yourself a 4S lipo with a charger, The UL-1 power plant and the above linked JAE21 FE. That is a tried and true setup for that hull and should provide you the boating enjoyment you seek.

Any questions, feel free to ask.
      Danny

Hi. I'm in the UK also. Birmingham area. Why not try a ready to run boat first then try building one when your a bit more experienced. That's what I did and at least that way you have a RTR boat to use while you building. Just an idea for you to think about.

Welcome indeed and thank you for sharing an insight to dyslexia, as metioned you way want to try a ready to run boat first or build a cat or a mono hull.....riggers require quite a bit of boating experience to run without ending up with frustation with the hobby. I have a neice with dyslexia.

                Welcome Jeppo
                ,
                I'm in Nottingham

All the info you need is on here!

I started off just like you about 3 years ago moving from helis but be careful its an addictive hobby especially if you have a lake close by lol
My advise is speak to Allan at Astec models, get your girlfriend to buy you a Mono1 Envoy or a Chaser hull you and your dad could build this easy, run it on 3s setup you will never sell it, will make you grin from ear to ear every time, cheapish setup as well
I had an etti demon on 2s and 3s along with mono 2 cats hydro's eco, sold them all after bit, always wanting more and bigger motors, the Demon is a great hydro but a bit fiddley and you will need quit a bit of time to set it up properly take you eye of for a second and the bank will eat it up.hard to retreve when its upside down in the middle of a lake, I would stick with a mono1 to start with you wont regret it then build a JA
you will love the envoy it self rights as well with a bit of bath work, so no hassle and when it tips over and that's very rarely
its the only boat I bought and wouldnt sell great fun

but if you do decide to build a Rigger build Two and I will buy from you, sounds like you and your dad could build nice wood boats from planes, if you are good with wood JAE 21FE hull would be nice and easy, sure you can get the planes to build yourself.

Welcome to the forum! One word of advice: stay clear of Team Lindenau... a bunch of guys are still waiting for their boats after one year... If you find one on Ebay it's fine, but do not buy direct from them :)
