Here in Edmonton we have 4 hobby stores to choose from, unfortunately none have boat parts even though they carry some RTR boats. Other than brass tubes and screws we get our hardware from across the boarder or across the ocean. Anytime I go into the stores it's all talk about planes and vehicles so out here in Canada we are a minority when it comes to boats, It's to bad.Last edited by ksm2001; 11-14-2011, 10:48 PM.Comment

Yes it is a crime when I have to order parts from Australia, and Germany. I pay at less three times the cost of the part.Comment

With tax in Ontario and Canadian shipping it may still be cheaper to buy batteries from the States than the Canadian HobbyKing opening in Toronto area.
I've had good luck with the 30c Gens Ace packs from Hobbypartz, I also buy from rclipos.com.
I bought a number of different brands of packs this summer, all are still working, next summer time will tell if expensive packs last longer than the budget packs.
I run my boats usually twice a week, so next year the number of cycles will be getting up there, and one long winter storage. If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Thanks for the info. I didn't know they had a HobbyKing in Toronto. Also will look up rclipos.com. I won't be running my boats until next year. Doing some modifications over the winter. I am new at rc boats, and I am addicted. Use to fly rc. There are three or four local shops around southern Ontario where I can get batteries. Thanks again.Comment

Hobby King in Toronto looks weird. It is spelled Hobby King not HobbyKing. Doesn't look like the same company.http://torontointoronto.ca/hobby-king-Toronto. It's like a company that tells of hobby shops.Comment

Well, half of them will be translating English to whatever and reverse, if you can understand me.....
Another 30% will be dealing with customer service never ending issues....
This will still be one way street..... But hey, we need local budget hobby store....
Uppsss, guys from stores like Big Toys or HobbyHobby....
