I think a "moderator" ahem, needs to get in and remove the last 3 pages of this thread, all this talk about pics of sponsons, there is some on the second page, there is also some on the rum runner forum from the rear. Its no secret that I have a lot of Benjamins products, so take the following as a grain of salt as I CGAF what you think, but stating that this hull or any other is a copy of another because it has one similar design feature is like calling a ford a copy of a gm because its a car, or futaba a copy of a spektrum because its a tx. Without measurements of every aspect of the cheetah, who is anyone, especially those going out of their way for 3 pages to claim its a copy of something to make those sort of statements? If it simply has a flat bottom like a sprintcat, but has a wider tunnel, different sponson length, different ride pad width (even if by 1mm) and every other single aspect of the hull design is slightly different, then its as much of a copy of a sprintcat as it is of a MHZ Mystic, the similarity ends in that its a cat and a boat.

I have in fact just got off the phone with a good friend who has my cheetah there with him atm to build for me and he personally owns 2 sprintcats and he said they are nothing even close to a copy, the similarity ends in the fact that they are both cats and both have a flat style ride pad, but having been in the sport for 20 years at state and national level, he has never seen a hull the same, some similar, but nothing the same. So how about you all stfu about the issue until you buy one of each and take a photo of them side by side and prove otherwise.

Come on. The Danny's pissed that someone took a US made hull, sent it to China and splashed it. If he did copy it thats up to him and how he wants to conduct business.

As far as revoking Danny's mod privileges, move on. Danny does more work for this forum than anyone can ever imagine and NEVER asked for single anything. Not a discount, not a free item, not wages.

The name of this boat brings back memories of the past and funny it was used. Back about 10 years ago another company made a "Cheetah" and it was a splash. Made for lots of spirited debate.
