Candy apple red. Its a color that is first sprayed gold or silver, then the candy red color is shot over the base color giving it this nice wet deep color look. I shoot it all the time.
"Candy Apple" is transparent. As noted above you need gold or silver, solid color as base coat. I prefer to use gold as it pops more, IMO. Pactra makes it as well as Tamiya. Most hobby shops carry it.
Would tamiya ps paints be a good choice for small rc boat hulls?
you can get lots of nice colours, they dont cost too much, and if they are for polycarbonate Rc bodies, they have some give in them so it wouldnt crack?
lipo, find a ppg dealer. tell them you want gold paint and some transparent red… then just go to it. an automotive paint supplier will have chips for you to look at also...

As stated above, It's a candy apple red which is a transluscent red where the gold base color shines through giving a deep golden red color. It's also done with a blue on a silver base.
You may not be happy with a candy color done in one step.
ppg is the brand of paint i use to paint cars. so you just need to find a local dealer that can get you what you want. my supplier can make rattle cans of any color there is and more….
