how to use 989 super brain

i got a 989 super brain MRC charger today..i read the instructions and still dont really know how to use it.
    I have 2 IB4200 9.6v 8 cell packs
    and 1 IB1100 5 cell reciever pack

could someone please explain to me how to charge and discharge these the most effectively? i really want to use it tomorrow, but the electronics seem to be smarter than the operator at the moment...

This was my first charger. If I remember correctly It is very easy. You have 4200's so you could charge at 4.2A I always charged at 3 though. And If they are new packs cylce them a few time first. But I think its just setting it to the Amps and pressing start.

I really don't remember that much. I looked to see if I still had the instructions to refresh my memory but I don't. I do remember the instructions kinda sucked, but once you figureed it out, it was easy.... Sorry

No discharge is to be set lower like 1 I think.. But yes, other than that both posts are correct. Instructions make it something it's not....hard.

No, I think you still need to set the discharge also just set it lower. I could be wrong about that part but I think thats the case. Long day here also, don't worry.

so charge at 3 amps and discharge at 10amps? this is only for the C cell 4200 batteries right?
What about for the IB1100 reciever pack charge at 1.5amps and discharge at 1amp?

so discharging the batteries at 10amps will not shorten their life span or is that goonly with charging them with too many amps?
