    Anyone in for a little FE FUN, Jersey Style ?

    Here it is boys and girls, [the secret's out] : the Aeromarine 32" JERSEY SKIFF If you haven't seen them run (or have never been to a rodeo) here's the larger gasser version - Bouncing down the straights & up on the rail in the turns :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bkTG_pwiE4 {Yes the drivers were given a sobriety test before the heat; that's just how they handle-and where the fun is!}

    I just got mine, as did two racers from AZ and (if things go according to plan) we'll have some heats at WW XIII using spec [AQ 1800] power. These hulls are BEAUTIFUL and should definitely put some FUN FACTOR into the mix.

    [Notice and disclaimer to hard-core scale folks : We will have a provision to allow no more than 2 1/2 " hardware extension out back. Period. This IS NOT intended to be a "full scale thing" - just to allow some handling provisions. (There will be scale drivers). Nor do we wish at this time to suggest yet one more class be added to the already full roster of "official classes". Us girls just wanna have fun ]

    Sweet. If we have fun Jersey style, does that mean we have to get fake tans and get buff? Good luck, Tony. It does look very fun.

          Got a white deck/ navy blue bottom on order and my friend here in town is getting a yellow deck/ black bottom, and Dick Loeb got an all yellow one this week. Anyone decide what hardware to use (specifically part numbers!) Mike

              Chris Craft meets cracker box. Hmmm, somewhere in my basement is some peel and stick wood panel vinyl.

                This question comes from me having zero experience with a Jersey Skiff, but can a big jet pump be used on these? My friend a a big jet pump with no home. Would probably be good for a 40" hull, if one is made this size.
                Tony, I hope you get the other builds out of the way, this one looks very interesting.

                    Boat looks cool. I love how it skips and looks like it takes so much skill to turn. Drivers on there will be awesome.

                    Isn't the AQ1800 too small of a motor for that big boat? By small I mean dimensionally. I'm assuming possibly 6s with a very small prop? Or is going slow the thing with these boats?

                      Skiffs are fun and cool looking boats.
                      The 1800 motor is more then enough to push this size boat.
                      Id assume they are going to run 4s power to them and speeds will be mid 40s or more.

                        No. They bank so hard in the turns that the pump would probably suck air.

                          The Aq 1800 motor does look a little "lost" inside this hull, but the choice to power these boats comes down to two possibilities : Go with P- unlimited power and end up with speeds that could push the speed/handling envelope past what's reasonable for these hulls; or go with P-spec power and just have some good fun and competetion that keeps the playing field level (without breaking the bank ). Faster isn't always funner

                          Know too that currently this is what could be described as an "experimental" class ; who knows what direction it it will evolve into as it develops? When I get to building mine, it'll be rigged in such a way that a bigger power system can easily be substituted .

                            Just for "food for thought", here's a NAMBA proposal up for vote regarding gas Skiffs. Just a proposal, likely to get voted in. Only to provide insight regarding how the gas guys do it. [sorry for the pix, I'm computer illiterate]
