    Genesis speed controller

Genesis with Leopard 4082 1500kv, 6S, M445. What is the lowest amp speedo I can use (reliably)? I don't want to invest in another 240A esc if I don't need to.

I think most go with the T180 on the genesis.

Is the T-180 recommended for 6s use though?

I think the specs say it can go up to 6s, but I seem to hear a lot from guys on the forum that it's recommended to keep most of the cheaper boat escs far away from their posted max limits.

The OP asked how low he can go "reliably". Just want to make sure for him. I haven't ever ran a t-180 at 6s, so I don't know for sure.

I think you can get away with the 180 as long as you use a external bec and especially if you run 7s2p.

T-180 all the way. I use one on 62 in a 31" mono with a t600 1400kv outrunner and a neu/cc 1520 with up to a x447. Mostly with 6s1p, and using the on board bec.

I use quite a few T180's, should be fine with the 4082 in the lower kv you are going with. I actually use 6s2p on my 39" mono and it works fine with no external BEC, some dont like to go with 6s on it though.

6s2p is what I meant to say. Not sure I've ever heard of anyone running 7s.

Thanks guys. I had heard of some burnouts on 6S with the T180 but the 1500kv Leopard is an efficient motor and I'll be using a bec as well. The Swordfish looks to be a good candidate too - after a good soaking with liquid electrical tape.
