    CC1515 2200kv motor timing?

I am going to program my 180a esc and am nt sure what to set the motor timing to? I am running a CC1515 2200kv, 180a esc, 2S2P turnigy 5000ma 40c, 42x55 AQ prop in my miss geico. Any one help me. I know not to use the auto function:)...Thanks Jason

Typicaly 15 deg is right for "Y" motors. You could start conservatively, 10 deg, and see how the motor runs. Then increase if needed. There is no one setting for all speedos. Each is slightly different. But I wouldnt use anything lower than 10 deg to start.

I hope you meant 4s and not 2s2p. I'd go right to 15 degrees.

I run that same set up in several of my boat and set it to the 11.25 to be safe. Most run in low 50mph and the motor is in the 80deg esc under 100 and batts at about a buck ten but I run 4s2p which tends to run much cooler than 4s1p.

Timing advance depends on the load placed on the motor. Light loads, 10 degrees. Normal "racing" loads, 15-20 degrees. In my SAW cat I ran 20 degrees advance on my 1515/1Y with 6S, and the motor and ESC were fine - but run time was very low. I picked up 3 mph going from 15 to 20 degrees, so on a normal setup the power difference will not be huge.

Thanks guys. You are right, I meant to say 4s2p. I am currently running 15 deg with no problems. Motor and esc temp 85 deg. Batts are at 110 deg. This boat flies with this setup. Thanks for the replies. I will dial it back and see how she runs. If I lose 2-3 mph that will be ok. I would rather be safe than sorry.
