    Electric NOS

I saw an article in the September issue of RC Driver that may work in boats just for fun. The guy (for an EMAXX) used the 3rd channel for an additional 2S boost. He is running on 4S with an additional 2S pack wired as NOS. He used a servo on chl 3 and took out the motor using it as a switch that was wired to an auto relay that when hitting chnl 3 it added an addition 2S so on 6S.
I know it raises some issues and is not for racing, but I do think it would be pretty impressive if it could be used in a boat application, even from 4 to 5S!
Anyone ever done this successfully before?

id have to see it to belive it.
not to mention the amount of spare "space" in an RC car.
after running my slash on 2S, there isnt really any need for 3S, its probaly somthin similar to that

would it not mess with the ESC to change the voltage after initial boot up?

Yeah, probably. The LVC would be useless as it would be set for 4S cutoff, that's for sure.

Not to mention, if you hit the "NOS" with a fresh 2S reserve pack running amperage through partially dead main packs, the current from the fresh pack will get dragged through the worn packs and heat them up fast. Not a good idea.

The whole concept is kinda...dumb (did I type that out loud)? I mean, if the boat can handle 6S (without flipping or blowing over) pretty much anyone would already run it with 6S. If the hull can't handle it, giving it a boost like this would just make it wipe out anyway.

Why not just run 2/3 throttle all the time, then when the pretty girls show up, pull the trigger all the way. You know, to show off.

Seriously though, it's not a good idea, particularly with the amperage draws in an FE boat.
