building a boat for the first time. Genesis

I'm new to rc boats, been into cars for 15 years.
I have a genesis cat in the mail from HK.
So Im looking for some decent stuff to put into this.
I'm thinking about buying a swordfish 200A esc and Leopard 4082 1550kV 2y from OSE. good or bad idea?
What kind of prop and battery/ies should i use if i go for the esc and motor.
    Thanks for all help

First we need to know what your expectations for the boat are. Realize that the normal FE boat has much less run time than the average car does.

    - Speed you are looking for
    - Run time you would like to have
    - Radio you will be using
    - Size of running area, and smooth or rough water
    - Voltage you are wanting to use (4S or 6S or 8S)
    - Amount you want to spend

With this information we can give you intelligent, meaningful suggestions.

The setup you suggested will be very fast on 6s and put the motor in a good zone, just make sure the 4082 will fit under the canopy.

Sorry to hijack but I am in the same position but having brought a kyosho twin storm which I got bored with after a few runs! I now have the same hull in carbon fibre and was planning the exact same set up Marius has just mentioned but with a seaking 180 esc.

Marius if your search for fightercat forum there is loads of useful info but this hull.

          Speeds: 80-100km/h maybe?
          Run time: have no idea.
          radio: flysky gt-3b
Running area: mostly smooth water, and quite large.

I've been looking at batteries, is it an idea to get 2x Turnigy nano-tech 6000mah 4S 25~50C Lipo Pack and running them in series for speed and paralell for long runtime ?
