I'd replace it to they seem to get out of balance with the shim and the first time you loose a 35 $ prop you'll be kicking your self when your flex breaks, mine happened on a pb fastech with the 1/8th shaft shimmer up to 3/16 it broke and took out my stuffing tube and ripped a 2" hole in my hole ruining the boat 180$ hull or 20$ flex?

Hmm I might have a look into it, i dont have too much equipment of where im staying at the moment, but ive got a spare 4mm teflon tube and a 150 to 3/16 cable, and ive redone a spare genesis strut with a speedmaster bushing, had a bit of trouble getting the bushing to stop moving in the strut after removing the standard teflon bushings though :S

Do it right and convert it to 3/16 or fight with a rigged up system with adaptors.

Graupner 4mm to 3\16" drive dog adapters have a threaded 4mm bore hole instead of using a grub screw, it screws on to the end of the stub shaft threads, longer threads on the stub shaft would be required for everything to connect up properly if using standard prop nut for example.
A 4mm to 3/16" shim with a longer grub screw & bore hole through the shim would work, but would need the right tooling to do it properly & would be fiddly.
Etti do a 4mm to 3/16" prop adapter but the supplied prop nut must be used, so cant use those cool looking bullet style prop nuts.
I see over engineered adapters, but no standard style 3/16" drive dogs with a simple 4mm smooth bore hole, & side tapped for the grub screw.
Someone with a precision lathe & miller surely could knock up a batch, as there are allot of boats coming with stock 4mm stubs. My TFL Blue Arrow for instance.
Sure I could replace the stinger etc for 3/16" but the 4mm stock ones pretty decent as its ball raced front & back with zero tolerance, essential when your running a TP motor flat out.
I've tinkered with 4mm struts that are the press fit bushing type but found them too sloppy where you could wiggle the stub shaft inside the bushings which put me off, however never had that problem on my 3/16" stingers, maybe because allot of the imperial stuff is quality American made, & the metric stuff out of China that in reality is hit or miss.
As an upgrade would be interested in a 3/16" strut that would fit the existing Arrow bracket? as there's no space what so ever for upscaling that part. Any suggestions on a high tolerance 3/16" strut that would work?
