original design taken from the Japanese rigger designs that they have been running for many years. (just tweaked a bit )

First saw them back in the early/mid 90's when we were stationed in Japan.

There is another version they run over there that is super long and it is run over a 12 kilometer course
in off shore. It is followed by an actual power boat with driver and judges riding along.
