    Off to the Straightlines !

Well it's 3:57 a.m. and I'm sucking down my second cup of mud. Got to get to the lake early to help set up the lights and such. Mostly looking forward to seeing Jay, Darin, Brian and the SoCal bunch. What a feeling seeing old friends ! Gonna have some fast times by the out-of-towners (you too Tyler). Have a secret weapon of my own , we'll see how she does; did well in testing Tuesday. More tonight.

Great first day. Many records fell and some new blood did some amazing runs. Brian smashed all four P-Ltd records (of mine) and in the spirit of good sportsmanship I hid my shame from public view. Darin looked good and will find his groove and get some gold as well. Wilmer rocked the pond with his flying fish, newcomer Jim Marcum beat the old record but missed the new record with his nicely tuned monster Segad cat, but Boyd !! High speed of the day - 94 mph with his Maritimo twin. Jay's cat was soo smoooth and got some gold, and Tyler's monster horsepower mono shredded a .250 shaft but will be back. More happened-I'm just too tired to remember. May have some vid's later tonight - charging the cam batteries to upload.

Need to say that it was REALLY nice to see Brian, Darin, and Jay. Doesn't happen often enough.

          Need sleep for now

Tony, I had a blast today. Yes I had some good racing luck, but the best part of the whole trip is seeing my friends. It's been three years, way too long. We'll see you out there tomorrow bright and early!
