    Brushless Motor/ESC Saver?

Since the current is what burns our brushless motors & ESCs I wonder if anybody knows of a ESC capable of limiting the max current delivered to the motor.
A kind of Current Limiter for Brushless Motor/ESC?

Maybe try some sort of in-line fuse?

      It's a good idea!
For my setup: 5S2P Zippy LiPo 5000mAh and Seaking 180A ESC with Leopard 4082 1600Kv (2000W continuous and 3000W burst power) a 150A fuse could do the job!!??
The fuse should burn at a power of 2775W ..... pretty reasonable power I think.
      Are there any contraindications?
Anybody tested this kind of stuff?

Correct, fuses don't have a thresh hold.

There is one I am aware of that has a preset current limit that is user adjustable. At least the manual says it is, since I dont own one yet. The new MGM X-series V7 in both the 250 amp and 400 amp. Maybe other MGM's have it as well but I only know about these 2.

It seems that are very big: http://www.woehner.de/it/prodotti/fu...0-a/03234.html

Instead this one could fit inside a rc boat: http://www.ebay.it/itm/400211333684?...#ht_5056wt_777

I have never seen time delay fuses small enough to fit in a boat without weighing it down. Granted, the only time delay fuses I'm used to installing are 120v and higher.

I thought the CC ESC's allowed a max current for 2 secs or so before cutting it off? Get Steve to have something made

Your thinking about the starting power setting. Its a surge current setting. Not a ceiling or cap on current being used. And you can only pick one of three fixed settings. There is no value to set. I dont know what the values are but if you ask Castle they will probably give you the info. This could be something Ben might want to consider in his new speedo line he will be offering us the public.
