    GPS recommendations anyone?

I'm looking for a small GPS for top speeds. I keep finding GPS's with only average speed or current, not max speed. ANy recommendations that arent more than the cost of a boat?

I use a fore trex 301. Very small, a lot smaller then a etrex... It's waterproof also. http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Foretre.../dp/B002EOULAE i use to hike a decent amount so came in handy, but i mainly bought it for my boats. I just removed the wrest strap.

        Id go with the trex.
I have an etrex and it is pretty big and relatively heavy.
Works god for large boats but def not for smaller then 3'

I have been using the Garmin Forerunner 201 and I'm verry happy with it. It's small, has rechargable batteries and max speed.

I just picked one of the Garmin etrex legend units off Ebay for $40 shipped. Got it in the mail today. Looks great, hope to try it out in a boat before the snow hits! I don't have anything to compare with at the moment, but it feels to weigh about the same as a 2s 5000 lipo pack. Not enough from keeping me from sticking it in some of my planes too.

I'm just looking to find my speeds for fun however. And of course for being able to tell what adjustments and modifications improve the boat's performance & which drag it down. I've always been and always will be just a sport RC guy. I'm big into it all, but it's just for personal enjoyment :)

If getting the absolute top speed reading on a gps in your boat is #1 importance to you though, then spend more on something smaller by all means.

I use a Holux sport 245 and it's very small and works great. Records top speed as well as many other things.
