How to remove stock Teflon liner it won't budge

My proboat Elam the stock teflon liner does not want to budge and I'm probably going to extend the stuffing tube and would like to remove it and replace with a new longer one.

Any idea or help to get it out appreciated.

Not sure what methods you have already tried to remove it but one method I find as my "last ditch" attempt is to cut the liner faced off to the brass stuffing tube end. Its important to make sure that the liner is trimmed with a new sharp razor blade. The cut cant be irregular or angled. Take a drill bit or rod sized correctly to barely fit into the stuffing tube (not the liner) and press against the teflon liner. If your lucky it will push out the liner, depending on the reason its stuck in the first place. Of course if there is an end sticking out far enough then you can take a set of vise grips (small set) and lock on to one end and pull the liner out. Thats usually where I start and then resort to the push out method as my last trick. Because the final step in the books to just remove the entire assy and start new.

New stuffing tube without the teflon, less drive line drag with out it. I personally can't stand the teflon, it always seems to cause more trouble in the end than it's worth for more friction.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Jeff, I just encountered the same problem refurbing a water-damaged MM. I was able, like John recommended, to pull out the liner with some needle nose pliers by forcing one "nose" between the liner and tube, squeeze tight, and pull. You might try to hold vertically & insert a WD 40 straw between the liner & tube & lube it. The WD should slowly soak down the length of tube & free it up some.

Thanks guys I will see if I can get the darn thing out.
If I were to run no stuffing tube I would still have to replace the brass tubing and I really do not want to take out the original stuffing tube and make an entirely new one!!
