There has to be more than just me using one of these.

What are you using for software? I have Dr.Stika. It works for the basics but it's a terrible design package.

I have the SV-12, but never used its own software... I installed the printer driver under windows and normally use Corel Draw X5 for all my cutting.
Just one thing to remember if you're using Corel: check that all your paths are closed or the cutter goes crazy :p The Stika software will automatically close them.

Forgive my ignorance. I typed Corel 5 into google and found it from free to $149. The internet is a sketchy thing aint it?

      Is Corel shareware?

I have used Signblazer for a number of years on 3 different cutters. Has done all I have asked of it. It was available free from sign blazer UK. Steve

            Unfortunately it is not shareware:

It usually goes around 400$... or you can search the torrent sites

I use CorelDraw for design but the Stika machine is horrible at cutting. I've had it factory reconditioned and it still skips and tears. Anybody want to buy it? ;-)

No need for anything exotic using Corel. Just convert to eps and load into the cutter software. Lots of freebie stuff out there. I haven't used the machine for a few years so can't tell you which ones. Just google Stika cutter software.

The only solution is to lower the speed, change the knife at least every year and use thin good quality vinyl. If these conditions are not met then, yes, it's horrible... I still regret my Roland CAMM...
