So I've been watching some peoples boat builds from bare hulls. I'm curious why some of you are getting your boats paint and decal work done before you actually start building the boat?
I've been around cars of all types my whole life. Race cars and show cars to restored antique cars. You dont paint the cars then build them. It's best to do all the major work first then paint it. Maybe even some reassembly after the paint depending on the type job it is, because some jobs you paint everything seperate. The reason you do this is because you want to lessen the chance of doing any damage to the paintwork. It makes sense to me from all I know and have learned doing cars to do the same to a boat build. Do all the work of drilling holes and mounting things, cutting etc etc. Then once the boat is working and good to go mechanically. Then take your hardware off and paint the hull.
Interested in what others say. Maybe I'll learn something new about the rc boat building hobby.
Thanks
