Hello, welcome
I am not the resident expert but there are a few things that are cheap upgrades.
I do not have a grey thunder but do have a aquajet,
some of the upgrades on my aquajet are

deans plugs
flex coupler
graupner cf prop 2317.42
jeti navy speed controller 60 amp
graupner 700bb 8.4 volt motor
I also run 16 cells gp3300

I agree with Bob. I would buy the 700sc over the 700bb though. Far better motor for the same money.

I have been hearing that, the 700bb came with boat so I would not know, but when this motor burns up I'll be buying.

Also I wanted to reinforce what everyone says here about props, that bigger is not always better.
I tried a larger prop on my aquajet and it worked but went back to the one suggested here on OSE and the speed and take off and runtimes were better.
Now I am going to try the next size down!!!

I would not buy a 700sc, if I already had the 700bb. Although the 700sc is faster with more torque, the speed difference isn't huge. I would go with the Aqua bl system. It will allow you to run a much larger prop, which will increase speed.

as I am still new to this I only know brushed but would like to make the changeover myself...new project??
