    Suppo ESC programming issue

Well I finally have the issue with the HobbyKing ESC's resolved.

Now I have an issue with the 70A Boat ESC's I bought used here. After programming you are supposed to push the trigger forward for 2 beeps. When I release the trigger the motor comes on for 2 seconds and then stops and will not do anything when the trigger is pushed backwards or forwards. I can re initialize by rehooking up the battery and it does exactly the same thing.

Here is the manual I am using: http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/suppo-esc.htm

Using option 1.1 for 3S battery.
Under option 2 I am using the first choice.

Does anyone have any idea on how to go back to the default settings?

    thanks

When you push the trigger foward & here 2 beeps dont release the trigger but unplugg the boats power whilst still holding full brake on the trigger.

it could be that your throttle channel is reversed, I never had problems like that when programming my 200A

After you select an option and change a setting, and it confirms with a long beep - unplug the battery. It should save the setting.

I have an update to a (presumed suppo) guide that now says after all settings have been made, put the trigger in the CENTER position. You might try that if the above doesn't work.

is that a new one? the older ones say push the trigger all the way back and then the ESC will arm.

I tried everything above and still the same issue.

I did try something. I programmed it for NiMH with .8V /cell cutoff and it works! So it appears to be a cutoff issue. I did program for the last choice which is 1 short + 6 long which is supposed to be 3S/9V cutoff.

Any ideas? I have contacted Suppo and waiting an answer.

                I have found more info.

These ESC’s came out of a Apparation boat: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11739

I found the attached Suppo directions. It has a 70A ESC that is not capable of 3S. I believe that is the ESC I have because I only have cell choices to 1 short + 6 long. Also if I set it to 1 short + 1 long (NiMH .8v/cell cutoff) it works.

But the boat they came out of is 3S so I am confused.

                Any ideas?

so the ESC is a max 2S? or is it a hv one? strange that they would do that

No, it looks to be a MV with only 4S - 8S and NiMH as programmable.

Option 1.2 Cell Type and Number of Cells

Only for 70A (MV as 4S-8S)
                    • — 1 Short + 1 Long NiMh/NiCD Auto Cell Count - 0.8V/Cell
                    Cutoff Voltage *
                    • — — 1 Short + 2 Long 8S Li-Po (29.6V) – 24V Cutoff Voltage**
                    • — — — 1 Short + 3 Long 7S Li-Po (25.9V) – 21V Cutoff Voltage
                    • — — — — 1 Short + 4 Long 6S Li-Po (22.2V) – 18V Cutoff Voltage

I wonder if its this one????? I had a 200A Suppo that would not program on the link you have posted. I did it w/ this one and it worked perfectly.

                      Wrong link. Hang on.......

Im looking at it on paper, but I cant find it now online. When your programming, do the beeps match whats on the sheet you have in each section. For example, The way I figured that these instructions were wrong for the 200 I have is that in one of the sections there should have been for example a short beep followed by 5 long beeps and it was only going to 4 long beeps.. there was no 5 as the instructions said there would be. I discoverd this after I blew up the first esc on its intitial power up after programming. Also that there was supposed to be 6 options according to the manual and there was only 5. If your only goes to prorgammning option 5 and not 6 which would be 1 short beep and 6 long, let me know and Ill scan this for you.

I have in the cell section 1 short and 6 long as the last option. The link you gave gives up to 1 short and 7 longs.

In the initial programming there are 6 choices, not 5 as yours has.

                        thanks.

I didnt notice that difference in the one I linked. Maybe that was the difference. I was going by memory. It did 7 instead of 6 options. So if the one I linked matches the beeps on yours and not the beeps on the original post, try that and see if it works.

Another option would be to contact Ben at Fightercat. Hes a wealth of knowledge on China ESC programming or at least can steer you in the right direction.
