    motor turn question

    Hi,
Looking at 2 motors for a dual build. One of them says it has 6 turns, the other has 4 turns. What's the difference?

Turnigy B36-50-06 2300kv Inrunner (this is the 6 turn one)

    Turnigy B36-56-04 2600kv Inrunner (the 4 turn)

Now, I will be running on 4s. The 2300kv will bring me to just over 34,000rpm. The 2600kv will bring me to 38,480rpm. I feel the 2300kv is probably a safer bet to make the motors last a little, but what do the experts think? Is 2600kv too high?

I'd steer clear of those motors, my buddy had a 2300kv and it didn't last too long before it cooked, was in a SV27 propped well down from stock, thought it was running fine and just stopped in the middle of a run one day, esc was fine for temps, motor was warm but not as hot as some guys run better quality motors. He replaced it with a UL-1 motor, night and day difference, came in barely luke warm after it's first run with the exact setup that cooked the Turnigy.I'd probably go for a Tacon from hobbypartz before that one. Will probably cost about the same once you factor in shipping, In fact to Canada it's far cheaper to buy lipos from hobbypartz than HK, I usually just buy higher C rating and capacity, spend the same at I would have from China and have better batteries.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Not any kind of expert here but I put this 2950kv Tacon 3650 in a 20" mono with 3S and it screams. A bit overpowered actually. I am still tuning in the new boat and running it with a X432 so I cannot give it full approval yet.

Darn, it was on sale for $22 when I bought four of them. Now $35.

From what I've read even those inexpensive 2-ppole Tacons you just posted are better than the Turnigy 2 pole motors by far. In fact they come darn close to Feigaos if not surpassing them...

They are most likely re-branded Leopard 2 pole motors. Good specs & reviews on Hobbypartz.

I have never used one mind you...

Buyer be aware, you get what you pay for and it can be expensive in the long run.

John's SV was fast too, for a while.
