I ran it with a Pranther 240 prop and two Turnigy 5000 6S batteries in parallel. The boat ran much quicker than I wanted....I am going to try a Pranther 235 and an Octura 648 next to lower my temps and my top end.
I suspect that the smaller diameter props will not be very efficient on this large hull. If you want to slow it down, keep the diameter but reduce the pitch. An x452 has almost the same diameter but 15% less pitch than a Prather 240, so speeds should drop by about 7 mph. The smaller props (235, 648) still have more pitch than the x452 but won't accelerate the boat well in rough water. Even an x450 is better than the x648.

If you reduce the prop thrust cone too far the prop won't push the boat. Boats this size usually have 60-70mm props. The real problem is too high a Kv on the motor for this boat for the speeds you want. The Leopard is not that efficient so will heat up faster, but really it is poor motor choice. For 35 mph speeds in rough water, a motor with a 1000 Kv would have been a better choice - more torque, longer run times.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it. I knew building it that it would be pretty fast but not quite that fast. I will try the smaller props you suggest and if it slows a few mph, I will be happy. I definately need to keep the diameter of prop but cut down the pitch. As you mentioned, these hulls need prop diameter. I will just be a bit easier on the trigger in the choppier water.

Hey guys, I have twin 5692 1340KV motors on the way to go into an Apache 57" hull with twin Flightmax 6s 8000Mah packs for juice. Do you guys suggest using the same props as on a single setup (X450-X452) or equivalent for a twin setup?? Do I go larger diameter for speed and smaller for run time is that how it works??

          Cheers appreciate the help!!
