    Apparition cooling

    Ok
I have an Apparition and I am rebuilding it with a leopard 4074 to run on 4s.

I dont have any problem using the stock rudder pickup for cooling but I have two if the little OSE through hull flush mount water pickups just sitting around and I am tempted to use them.

Is it worth it to go cutting more holes in the bottom of my boat. Or should I leave it alone.

Some input on what to use would be greatly appreciated.

    Anyone

I am trying to get an idea if the effectiveness of the in hull water pickups.
Better or worse than the rudder pickup?

I have never found the thru hull pickups consistent. Only tried them once and it was dissapointing. Rudder pickups normally are down on the water and only rarely out. Where as the bottom edges have no problem dancing out of the water for some pretty long stretches depending on surface conditions. And I do not recommend mixing the 2. If you have a rudder pickup, do not add the bottom hull pickups. Water exits thru the path of least resistance. If the easiest path is out thru the bottom pickups then guess where the bulk of your water will end up?
