    KB8L Testing

I got around to installing the KB8L in the Jolly today. I discovered the coupler probaly was the source of the wire wobble on the last KB. It's not so bad this time I was able to correct it a little buy leaving out a grub screw. I need to order a new coupler. I had to use a spare Hex due to the fact the 200 amp unit I am waiting on is STILL on back order. With the 8L's 2300kv I proped down to a S&B X637. This motor has a rep for hogging the amps and making some heat so the smaller prop on the 120 amp esc is a must. I am hoping the weather breaks this evening just before dusk. I'll take it down the lake with the gps and have at it. I set the Hex cooling up a little different this time. The water block covers the fets better when it's placed upright. lets hope the smoke stays in.

Very interested Tom, as far as heat and amps are concerned, as I have a KB45 12L that is looking for a home. The wire drive looks great

Steveo the the Feigao cured a CG problem I had with the kb8xl. The big kb made the boat run a little wet.

                  HM 200AMP is in!!

I think I'm the first one to take delivery on one of these. As you can see from the pictures it's big. It's also got some weight to it. The wires are heavy gauge. I will get the shrink off it soon and figure out cooling.

Those are the same Esc's I use...Mines Just happens to go in boats that like to drink water. to cool mine I made a brass plate another time I drilled three holes through the cooling fin...and installed 3 aluminum tubes

I have one of the HV 100 amp controllers like this one. It has a double heat sink, one on each side. Had planned to air cool it, but this one needs two fans. Going to run it first and see if the two sinks will be enough cooling. Also need some bracing to steady it. Have not decided if I like this big boy.
