ESC problem, please help.

I fried my Etti 200HV when i conected the external BEC?

I think maybe the external BEC was giving more than 6volt? I dont know?

But the smoke came out of one of the small caps on top of the ESC. (see picture)

The problem now is that the ESC works just fine with a different BEC.

Is it safe to run it with one defect cap?

I would say no. Add some extra caps downline from the esc. That should take care of it.

What exactly does the blown cap do?

No, the capacitor(s) go in the battery wires. There should be a couple of threads on here about it.

I do have the extra cap bank already on the esc.

Talked to Etti HK, they told me to send it inn for an inspection.

Guess i will be good to go next year :)
