    DF Sniper 44 First Runs

Well, I found some water today where I could get a couple of runs in. My regular lake is closed for repairs. This is the DF Sniper set up with a Lehner 3060/10 - Schulze 40.160 - 10S2P 25C 5,000 mAh PolyRC packs.

The place I went was kind of a smallish pond where I have never been before. First run was easy on the throttle, etc. getting the feel for the place. Best I could get was 53 mph with the X460/2. But I was not really getting up to full speed either. The place was a total unknown to me and I was worried about the place more than seeing how fast I could go.

Swapped the X460/3 onto it and let it out a bit more. 64.3 mph and it looked good. Drives solid. Water was smooth and sticky. Turns both right and left were no issue.

Given that the water was very smooth and the boat was running a tad wet, I cannot complain. Plus I am not certain that I got it up to full speed long enough for the GPS to register. I was only doing 2 or 3 second straight runs.

All temps after 3 minutes were 120 or less on the packs, motor, ESC.

Do I like it?? Oh hell yeah!!

Nice boat. I have read the other thread on it. My question is, since you have plugged for fastelectricrc. I am wondering how service was? Do you have an "in" there? I was gonna order some stuff from there but not many actually seem to have any experience with them. Is there stock status pretty reliable? sorry for the questions but it may open up a new trustworthy vendor. thanks

OSE is still the best in my book though!!! just had to add that. Thanks Mr. V!

I stumbled upon Paul Pachmayer totally blind. I have no special in with him. In fact, I'm pretty sure he doesn't really like me, but that's OK. He builds GREAT boats. I have found him to be a superb vendor. His service is excellent and he is always willing to give you the benefit of his experience. He almost always answers the phone, except on Tuesday afternoon, that's shopping day!!

I have been nothing but satisfied with him. I have two boats that he built, both are top notch workmanship, and all my other orders have gone flawlessly.

Give him a try, you won't be disappointed. Between Paul and OSE, I basically buy from nobody else. Well, except for my batteries. I get those from Pat at RC Lipos

I try not to focus on the total!! I just do it by the death of a thousand cuts. Many small orders!!

Three more good runs today. A buddy shot some video, unfortunately it was a poor run using a prop I wasn't sure about. Fastest so far is still the x460/3. 66 mph today in some slight chop (windy) and following a few large gas boats. Even the gas guys were impressed!!

It should be crazy with 3 or 4 of these boats in a heat at WW IV!!! It is running solid enough that once in race water it should not be too scary!!

Coolest part?? You can hear the hull "THUMP" as it hits the water at speed!!
