    every detail

Hey fellas. Just ordered my new boat from fine design. It is a yellow intruder s. I will be using the fd hardware with a seaking/turnigy 180 esc, 1515 1 y neu motor, and 5s 40c 2p gens ace lipos.

I am into car audio, and when we run our wires we always like to have the shortest wires of course, but we also make our ground wires at least one gauge larger. Does the same apply in the fe world?

Also, I have three props to choose from m445 x447 and x642. Anyone have some good feedback to which prop would be the best with my setup?

My goal is to go as FAST as possible, safely and stable.

im a car audio guy too lol.wires should be the same in a boat no point in going larger than the wires on the esc board or motor or battery really I think the 180 esc is around 10ga. or maybe even 12ga. with silicon jacket, however make sure you use a minimum of 5.5mm bullets throughout and possibly go larger on the motor side if you can. And the prop as well depends on the kv rating of the motor but you should try to stay 2000kv or under running 5s for rpm ranges sake.If you want a drag or saw boat then maybe push the limits with a 2200kv motor but only for short passes or else kaboom lol.I would start with the x642 then check temps and runtimes with the esc timing at 15 degrees.

Prop recommendations are worthless without knowing the motor specs, your battery specs and what the intended use of the boat will be.

      - What motor brand, size and Kv?
      - What is the mAh capacity of the cells?
      - What are your goals for the boat?
      - How important is run time versus speed?

BTW, do NOT set your ESC timing to 15 degrees! Not without knowing the wind of your motor. A Neu "D" wind motor can fry with 15 degrees timing advance.

Fluid said it ! And I recommend 8mm bullets ! Also if Chris set u up to go fast I am assuming 1515 1 Y neu.. Defiantly 8mm bullets, soldered with torch. And 445m to start.

I don't think you are going to fit 5s packs in the sponsons or next to the motors, it will depend on there size so I hope they aren't big ! Should have gone with 3s seriesed to 2s..... 5000mah 2p

yes it would be the 1515 1 y neu.
I have not bought the batteries yet. So it is still up in the air since rearwheelin is saying they won't fit. I don't have the boat in my possession yet so I didn't get measurements. 5000mah minimum.
My goal is to have a good handling boat that will run for 2 minutes fast, and a boat I can run 5-6 cell for a minute very very fast once in a while.
I would LIKE to be able to parallel 4s cells to increase run time when I want, and just run 5-6s when I get that need for speed.

I have had that boat then sold it before I built it a couple years ago to a friend. That motor is going to push the boat well. I would suggest for batts 2& 3s packs seriesed in the cell count desiered with 445m and no worries 4-6s ! I would run timing at zero.... Doesn't need any advancement unless you try to go for personal records... You can run 10000mah in it no problem..I would buy 4 2s & 4 3s packs....
