ESC issues feigao 8xl and 60 amp esc

Running a feigao 8xl motor with a 60 amp aquacraft esc.
I am experiencing delay in the response of the esc. When I back of the throttle it takes another second or two for the boat to respond. I have checked connections and put fresh batteries in transmitter, same problem.
    any ideas.

    Thanks

Have you made sure that it's not a receiver problem first? Plug a servo into the throttle channel & see if it responds properly.
I agree with Make a Wake. A 60A ESC is a bit small for an 8Xl. Depending on boat type & size & of course the prop size.

If he it running the 8xl on just 3s wouldn't that 60a esc be able to handle it?

When volts go down amps go up. It is going to depend largely on his prop how long his esc will last. The key is to allow the motor to run efficiently. Very hard to do with a 60 amp esc when the motor wants 90 amps. Esc will not last.

Thanks for all the info. I am new to boating, and bought this boat used. My options are now to either get new a esc or new stock motor.
The 8xl is almost to fast for the boat.
                I am running 2s x 2 5000 mah 40c

                Any suggestions
