What to do when cutting a stinger?

Is there anything special I need to do before cutting a stinger? Don't have any fancy tools so will a plain ol hacksaw do?

Remove the bushing inside the stinger if there is one. Mark the stinger where you want to cut with a Sharpie. Using a fine blade on the hacksaw, try to cut as square as possible leaving a little extra material so you can file down the end to be sqaure if needed. File the end so its flat and using some sand paper and a debur tool remove the sharp edges on the inside of the hole and outside edge. Cut the bushing using a pipe cutter or dremel cut off and and the cut end smooth. Push the bushing back in and you should be set.
