Hello from the sunshine Coast qld oz..... Need some help?

Hi guys and girls, i've just started in this hobby and have come unstuck..

    I have an apparation hull, twin kv2881's and 4500 3s 45c 11.1 lipo's..

My problem is this, hit something in the water today and it puched a small hole 2 mins later it stopped in bull shark infested water and i went for a swim..... not fun.

After inspection i have fried both esc's and i have no idea what esc's i need to get to get me back on the water.

I've included a couple of utube links of the boat when i first had it and it was running on my heli packs (couldn't wait for my new batts to arrive lol )

You guy's come highly recommended so i hope you can steer me in the right direction...

    Thanks in advance..

Well since you have to buy new ones Turnigy 120 or Seaking 120 would be more then adequate at 3s and give you room to go to 4s or higher. You could save a few pennies by using Seaking 90s but the difference in cost is about $15-20 US. If it was a newer apparition I think the stock ESC were 70amp.

Cheers Lockk, orded the seaking and the programming card.. Not a fan of turnigy, had too many probs in the past. Hope it's not too hard to program as i'm use to 1/5 scale gasser buggy's.. Still dont really under stand the settings and values but i guess i'll learn as time goes buy and now i have found this forum i'm sure you guy's will help me out.. Only went the apparation to see if i like boat's and i'm well hooked..lol Spent over7thousand on my trevor simpson baja and i can see what's going to happen......

Love the cat and twin prop, wish it was bigger than 800mm.. Any suggestions on my next hull? Has to be elec as my lake is a very snobby residential area..

      Thanks in advance..

The question is mate how fast do you want to go.

70mph is a fun speed but 85 is really fun.

        Cheers

I'm an adrenaline junkie, the faster the better and i have a massive span of water to play in.. I run a 4pk so range is no issue but the small boats are hard to see along way away and flying around at 85mph would be great!! Just need to know what to get? love the twin prop cats...

            Cheer Tiny!

Best of luck to you the programming card is the way to go the settings are straight forward the only one you have to do a little research on is finding your motor timing and I'm sure you wont have a problem getting that. I think we have a few members from down under too was in New Zealand on business for a week once Beautiful place and surrounding area .

              Hi Tiny,

Where on the Sunshine Coast are you based? I'm a bit further South - around Caboolture area.

Like you, I'm new to these craft - more experienced in brushless Monster Tracks, and nitro RC heli. But I've recently got a Genesis cat that I am on steep learning curve with, like you, and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Where's the "lake is a very snobby residential area.." ? Obviously not the lake where you did the youtube videos.

              Cheers,

              Jon

Twin prop cats are probably the easiest way to get up there in 80's. To be more consistent a larger cat would be the go.

One good way is to purchase a second hand boat set up so you get an idea of how they run.

With those sort of speeds you are looking at higher voltages and lower kv motors to get you there. My falcon cat runs 10s on 1000kv motors and will run aorund the 80 mark no trouble at all.

The other boat would be to run a rigger very fast but a lot less forgiving with driving.

The usual equation applies more speed more money but in my opinion the faster the better. Just don't show the bills to the trouble and strife.

                  Cheers

Justin would you be interested in putting one together. For what you would have paid to get that twin in your hands you can put together a great boat.

Send me a pm if your interested.

                      Cheers
