I aquired an older tunnel hull taht had a K&B 11cc outboard engine on it. I didn't have any info on it other than the fact it was never ran by my buddy's dad so he said to take it and have fun. I fired it up the first time and locked up the motor and broke the piston rod. I'd like to do a brushless conversion on it; however all I have seen is info on the 3.5 cc and 7.5cc. Is it possible with the 11cc if so what type of electric setup should i be looking at? Thanks guys!
K&B 11cc to Brushless Conversion...is it possible?

i`m not too sure on this but i thought the 7.5 and the 11 are the same , minus the power head of course . so if that is true then i`m sure you can. -
The 7.5 O/B uses #51-8701 lower halves, the 11 O/B uses #51-6701 lower halves. 11 cc, 13.3 and 16.4 share the same lower halves.
I do know that the 7.5 and 11's share the same prop shaft assembly and flex shaft.Last edited by HOTWATER; 08-27-2011, 08:26 AM.Comment

I think hyperformance has a conversion kit and all the spare parts for the 7.5/11cc K&B lower units. I know for sure they do the 7.5cc one I've never looked into the bigger ones but I seem to remember something about 11cc.
I'll be buying the 3.5 kit soon for a conversionIf my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

The 7.5 and larger K&B lowers are the same other than mounting holes drilled in the top base plate. I have driled and tapped many to fit the 7.5 bolt pattern which is what you may need to do to use the Hyperformance 7.5 FE mount. Go with a 4082 or 1521 size motor with whatever KV and battery selection you want. A 1200-1500 KV on 6s should power a larger size tunnel easily. Bigger the boat go with lower KV's
